<< a nation at war >>>>>>>
We are a nation at war. This is the way we have been described since 9/11/01.
As a law-abiding citizen of the United States I more than accept this. In light of the reasons why we are at war and my feelings of vengeance towards the perpetrators of the acts, which put us in this position, I welcome this statement.
I am angry. I am sad.
I am angry that yet again we have been shown that there are those out there who do not value human life as I have been taught. Very simply-Love one another-Do unto others, as you would have others do unto you. Very simple-yet very important.
I am sad because there are many in their homes on this very night who will never be able to experience these simple things from those who truly did love and care and honor their husbands, wives, children, and other friends in the community in which they lived. In other words, many who did unto others, are no longer allowed to do so because of the selfish and evil acts of a menacing and thoughtless few who will be brought to justice and served accordingly in
due time.
It is at this time that I believe we need to stand strong and show the world the true American colors. Red, White, and Blue come to mind-but we are much more than a three colored nation. While the colors on our flag bring stirring reminders of where we have been, where we are, and where we are going, getting to these places has involved for quite some time many colors and many creeds. White, Black, Arabic, Indian, Native American, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Pakistani, Jewish, Palestinian, Israeli, Mexican, Spanish, Latin, Portuguese, Iranian, Iraqi, African, Brazilian, Canadian, German, Irish, Italian, Scottish, English, French, and Russian to name a few, have all played a part in helping America accomplish, and to coin the phrase " the land of the free and the home of the brave."
It is our obligation to our country and to each other to stand strong and value our brotherhood and sisterhood with one another as fellow Americans and human beings at this time. We need to show those watching around the world that the enemy is not, and will not be here among us. That we are united in the statement that all human life is precious no matter what the color or creed or religion the individual or individuals may come from. That we will not be victims of an outside attack nor an inside attack on the things that we hold most dear to our hearts. Truth, Justice, Love. Because when all is said and done-it just simply is The American Way.
With all my love I thank you and may God bless you.
